A unique copy of an insurance policy covering the hull of the Titanic during its sea trials will be auctioned on November 21 at Henry Aldridge & Son auction house in Wiltshire. The policy, issued by Atlantic Mutual, provided coverage of $100,000 and was signed on March 27, 1912, just 19 days before the ship sank. A handwritten addition notes that the coverage also includes the voyage from Belfast to Southampton and the risk of trials. The insurer paid the insurance claims within 30 days and also played a role in claims related to the 9/11 attacks, before entering liquidation in 2011. The document is estimated to sell for between £30,000 and £50,000.
