In a live interview on 103FM, about a month before the elections, Chairman of the "Yashar!" party Gadi Eisenkot harshly attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his family. Eisenkot accused Netanyahu of persistent lies and cultivating the "betrayal theory" surrounding the events of October 7, while distinguishing between negligence and actual betrayal. He claimed that Netanyahu is undermining public trust in state institutions, and that his personal motives for political survival explain his "irrational" behavior. Eisenkot said it took him nine days to convince the cabinet to define the return of the hostages as an official war goal. He described Likud as having 18 seats in polls, and spoke of public disgust with the lies. Regarding the opposition, Eisenkot noted that the polls are volatile and that there is coordination between the parties, expressing confidence in victory over the "failed government." In response, Likud accused Eisenkot of lying, claiming that the return of the hostages was defined as a goal before his entry into the government, and that he plans to establish a left-wing government with Yair Golan, Lieberman, and the Arab parties.
