Likud appeals to Attorney General: Investigate hundreds of suspected election law violations
The Likud party has appealed to the Attorney General, demanding a criminal investigation into approximately 700 reports of suspected election law violations at polling stations in the Arab sector, including bribery, double voting, and threats.
The Likud party appealed today (Sunday) to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, demanding that she instruct the police to open a comprehensive criminal investigation following approximately 700 reports of suspected election law violations at polling stations in the Arab sector. The appeal, submitted through attorney Ilan Bombach, refers to suspicions of systematic activity by elements identified with the Joint List and Ra'am factions. Among the suspicions: systematic collection of voter data inside polling stations, election bribery, impersonation and double voting, threats and violence against officials. Likud notes that during election day a petition was submitted to the chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Judge Noam Solberg, following which a temporary order was issued to stop the data collection, but according to the party the activity continued even afterward. Likud demands that all reports be investigated, evidence be gathered and witnesses be questioned, emphasizing that the findings may serve as a basis for election appeals.
