Avigdor Lieberman denies concessions on draft law, insists on High Court review
Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman denied reports of concessions on the draft law, calling them an organized campaign. He stated any law must pass High Court review and expressed willingness for compromise to avoid further elections.
Chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, Avigdor Liberman, denied reports that he had made concessions on the draft law. On social media platform X, he wrote that a prerequisite for any such law is the ability to withstand the scrutiny of the High Court of Justice. "Otherwise, there is no point in wasting even a minute on a law that will not hold up in court," Liberman stated. According to him, the television reports on this subject "contain not a word of truth." He called them an organized campaign aimed at harming him, defaming him, and paving the way for a minority government with the participation of those he called "supporters of Hamas." Liberman claims that such a cabinet will last a very short time, and then will return Benjamin Netanyahu to power for four years with a coalition of 70 Knesset members.
