Liberals, wake up!

Yair Nehorai argues in an opinion piece that the liberal camp in Israel must internalize that it is a minority sector and stop the campaign to recruit Haredim, because Haredi units will lead to a 'religious police'. He warns against cooperation with Religious Zionism, which he says is striving for a halachic state, and describes an 'Iranization' of Israel.

Yair Nehorai, a researcher of the Kook Hasidic movement, argues in an opinion piece on Shkuf that the liberal camp in Israel must internalize that it is a sector, not a majority. According to him, election results prove that most of the Jewish public belongs to the 'faith bloc' – traditional, Haredi, and messianic – which aspires to a traditional majority dictatorship. Nehorai warns against cooperation with Religious Zionism, which he says is striving for a halachic state, and calls to stop the campaign to recruit Haredim, claiming that Haredi units in the army will lead to a 'religious police'. He claims that Netanyahu is a 'surfer of waves' who does not create social processes, and describes an 'Iranization' of Israel. The liberal camp, he says, must form alliances with tribes that enable its existence, such as the Haredim and Arabs, but not on the basis of shared values.
