Keshet filed an urgent request for an injunction: prevent the appointment of Itai Denkaner as CEO of Channel 13 News

Keshet filed an urgent request for an injunction with the Tel Aviv Labor Court against the appointment of Itai Denkaner as CEO of Channel 13 News, claiming a violation of a non-compete clause stipulating a four-month cooling-off period. Keshet offered to pay him four salaries in exchange for honoring the restriction.

Keshet filed an urgent request for an injunction last night (Thursday) with the Tel Aviv Regional Labor Court, demanding to block the appointment of Itai Denkaner, its outgoing VP of Scheduling, as CEO of Channel 13's news company. The request is based on a non-compete clause in Denkaner's employment agreement, which stipulates a four-month cooling-off period from the end of his employment at Keshet. Denkaner plans to assume his new role as early as next week, before the cooling-off period ends. Keshet demands enforcement of the agreement and a ban on the engagement until March 4, 2027. Keshet offered to pay Denkaner full compensation equivalent to four monthly salaries in exchange for honoring the restriction. The request is based on the claim that Denkaner holds trade secrets concerning the core operations of the channel, including planned broadcast schedules for 18 months, content and casting strategies, procurement agreements, and in-depth research. Alongside Denkaner, Keshet accuses Channel 13 of tortious interference with contract. The appointment comes amid the transfer of control of Channel 13 to Assaf Rappaport and Merit Fund.
