The Jewish National Fund (JNF) Board of Directors approved a NIS 33 million budget to support 22 communities located 2 to 5 kilometers from the Lebanese border. Under the decision, each community evacuated during the fighting that has not yet received JNF support will receive NIS 1.5 million for infrastructure rehabilitation and development. Benefiting communities include Kibbutz Ma'ayan Baruch, Kibbutz Dan, Beit Hillel, Ramot Naftali, and others in the Upper Galilee, Mevo'ot HaHermon, Mateh Asher, Ma'ale Yosef, and Merom HaGalil regional councils. Unlike the government's uniform funding model, JNF adopted a graduated support model based on distance from the border and severity of damage, with front-line communities eligible for NIS 2.5 to 3 million. Funds are earmarked for infrastructure development, upgrading public buildings, and enhancing open public spaces. JNF professional teams will visit communities in the coming days to formulate project lists, aiming to begin execution within about a month and a half. JNF Chairman Eyal Ostrinsky stated that the organization stands with the northern communities and views national responsibility as looking at the broad picture. The Moshavim Movement welcomed the decision.
