Head of the Joint List, Professor Youssef Jabarin, expressed his solidarity with Sheikh Ikrima Sabri during a phone call, denouncing the occupation authorities' decision to renew his ban from the Al-Aqsa Mosque, describing it as a new chapter in the series of persecutions aimed at silencing his voice.
Head of the Joint List, Professor Youssef Jabarin, expressed his solidarity with Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, head of the Supreme Islamic Authority and preacher of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, during a phone call, denouncing the occupation authorities' decision to renew his ban from the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Jabarin stressed that the decision to renew the ban, which has prevented Sheikh Sabri from entering Al-Aqsa since August 2024, is a new chapter in the ongoing series of persecutions involving arrests, summonses, investigations, and trials, aimed at silencing his voice and eliminating his religious and national role in Jerusalem. Jabarin considered this persecution part of a systematic policy of banning religious and national figures, in a blatant violation of freedom of worship, and an attempt to empty Al-Aqsa of its symbols and worshippers and impose new realities there. Jabarin stressed the need to immediately cancel the ban decision and stop the policy of banning and persecuting our people, affirming that the occupation government will not succeed in separating Al-Aqsa from its people, nor in breaking the resilience of Jerusalemites and our people.
