Israelis who bought El Al tickets to Prague sue the carrier: here's why
Two class-action petitions have been filed against El Al over the transfer of flights to Prague to its subsidiary Sun d’Or. Passengers claim they paid for El Al service and cannot cancel tickets without a $190 penalty.
Israelis who bought El Al tickets to Prague have filed two petitions to certify class-action lawsuits against the airline. The reason is that since November 15, the company has been transferring these flights to its subsidiary Sun d’Or, which, according to the plaintiffs, operates as a low-cost carrier. Passengers claim they paid a high price for El Al service and are now being charged $190 per ticket for cancellation. One petition was filed in the Haifa District Court, and another on October 27 through attorney Tomer Baram. El Al stated it will review the document upon receipt.
