"Israel is a peace-seeking country, I don't think there's a player who doesn't love Tel Aviv"

Maccabi Tel Aviv's professional manager, Claudio Coldebella, gave an interview to the Italian newspaper QS, addressing the security situation in Israel, the possibility of returning Euroleague games to Menora Mivtachim Arena, and the team's ambitions. Coldebella described Tel Aviv as 'a city that moves between Miami and New York' and claimed that 'there is no player who doesn't love Tel Aviv'. He denied the perception that the city is under siege, saying that 'to understand the reality here, you have to experience it yourself'. Coldebella emphasized that Israel is a 'peace-seeking country' prepared for emergencies. He noted that the fact that players decide to renew contracts indicates their comfort in Israel. Regarding home games in Belgrade, Coldebella said it is a competitive problem, as the team has to fly immediately after games. He stated that if Maccabi succeeds in returning to host in Israel, it will be a candidate for the Euroleague Final Four. Coldebella defended the participation of an Israeli team in European competitions, comparing to Dubai and Turkey, and defined Maccabi as one of the four clubs with the greatest history in Europe.
