Israel and the US prepared for another attack on Iran - which was not approved

A senior Israeli official told Kan News that Israel and the US prepared for a third operation in Iran within six months, but the plan was not approved. This follows Trump's order to prepare an attack plan without a target. The official did not rule out an attack after the US midterm elections. Netanyahu said he instructed to topple the regime in Iran.

A senior Israeli official told Kan News that the Israeli and US militaries prepared for another operation in Iran, the third within about six months, but the preparations did not reach the point of approving a plan for an attack. This follows US President Donald Trump's order to the US Central Command to prepare a plan for an attack on Iran, without a target date, which also led to heightened readiness in the Israeli defense establishment. As reported this week, officials in the defense establishment expressed reservations about the possibility of an attack before the US elections, fearing a political move. The Israeli official did not rule out an attack after the elections and until the end of the year, and claimed that the Iranians are not willing to compromise on the nuclear issue in negotiations. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at an officer course graduation ceremony that Iran is again trying to develop nuclear weapons, and instructed the defense establishment to topple the regime in Iran.
