Iran: Trump's talk of a possible attack on us is fabricating a false enemy

The Iranian Foreign Ministry described Trump's statements about a potential Iranian attack on Los Angeles and San Diego as fabricating a false enemy, and accused him of hiding the real threat represented by his administration, which imposed an illegal war on the world.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry described US President Donald Trump's statements about a potential Iranian attack on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego as "fabricating a false enemy." This was stated by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, who responded on the X platform to Trump's remarks. Baghaei added that the United States is "fabricating a false enemy in the sky to scare its people, in order to hide the real threat on the ground," noting that "the real danger is not beyond your borders nor above Los Angeles and San Diego, but lies in the administration that imposed an illegal war on the world." Trump had on Monday mentioned a scenario of an Iranian attack on US cities, saying: "Let them destroy Los Angeles. Let them destroy San Diego. That is a very small price to pay." This escalation comes amid previous tensions, as the United States and Israel launched military attacks on Iran on February 28 last year, resulting in thousands of deaths, and Tehran responded with attacks on Israel and US positions in the region, before a ceasefire was reached last April. Later, the US launched attacks on sites in Iran, amid stalled negotiations between the two countries, despite signing a memorandum of understanding in mid-June last year. The stalled negotiations are due to disagreements over navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
