Iran secretly building nuclear weapons - assessment
Satellite images have captured Iran's large-scale restoration of the "Taleghan-2" nuclear facility at the Parchin base, which was previously damaged twice by Israeli strikes. Iran has covered the work area with a protective canopy to conceal construction from observation. The facility, according to intelligence, was used for developing a nuclear explosive device mechanism.
Satellite images analyzed by the American Institute for Science and International Security under the guidance of expert David Albright indicate active restoration by Iran of the "Taleghan-2" nuclear facility at the Parchin military base, approximately 30 km from Tehran. The facility was severely damaged twice by Israeli strikes as part of operations "People as Lion" and "Roar of the Lion." The images show dump trucks, bulldozers, concrete mixers, and cranes. Iran has covered the work area with a large protective canopy to hide construction from satellite and aerial observation. According to Israeli intelligence, the facility was used for developing modern explosives and secret tests of a nuclear explosive device mechanism. Restoration began in June 2026, immediately after the completion of Operation "Roar of the Lion." Since then, Iran has built two concrete protective layers on both sides of the facility, presumably to increase resistance to strikes. Earlier reports indicated that Iran accelerated construction of a nuclear facility in a granite massif near Natanz.
