European intelligence services link the attacks to the group 'Harakat Asbab al-Yamin al-Islamiyya', which may be an instrument of Tehran.

Belgian authorities have for the first time officially stated Iran's involvement in a series of attacks on Jewish targets in Europe. The head of the Coordination Center for Threat Analysis (CUTA), Gert Vercauteren, reported that the perpetrators of two recent attacks in Belgium 'with certainty' acted on Tehran's calls to attack Jewish targets worldwide. On March 9, an improvised device exploded near a synagogue in Liège, and about two weeks later, a car was set on fire in the Jewish quarter of Antwerp. Both incidents resulted in no casualties. European intelligence services link the attacks to the little-known group 'Harakat Asbab al-Yamin al-Islamiyya', which, according to intelligence, may be an operational tool of Tehran. In the Netherlands, four suspects were arrested for planning an attack on a synagogue in Heemstede; materials for arson and pyrotechnics were seized from them. The terrorist threat level in Belgium remains at the third level out of four ('serious'). CUTA links the maintenance of enhanced security measures to the deterioration of relations with Iran and the rise in threats amid the situation in the Middle East.
