Independence in Uniform: The Initiative That Cares for Lone Soldiers

The 'Tasuchil' initiative, under the 'Laofek' association, is holding an 'errands day' for lone soldiers in Tel Aviv, aiming to assist them with suitable employment and financial independence during their military service.

Thousands of lone soldiers in the IDF face economic and bureaucratic challenges. As part of a special 'errands day' taking place today (Thursday) in Tel Aviv, the 'Tasuchil' initiative, under the 'Laofek – Hope for the Future' association, provides them with an employment support package. The initiative, which has been operating for over a decade, connects lone and underprivileged soldiers with friendly employers offering tailored positions, including special tracks for combat soldiers and those on a week-on-week-off schedule. The initiative's team and volunteers personally accompany the soldiers through a process that includes mapping abilities, matching jobs, and connecting with military welfare authorities. Aryeh, the founder and director of the initiative, explains that the goal is to give soldiers a sense of capability, independence, and financial security. The article does not include voices of soldiers who have used the service.
