In Samaria they demand the release of the detained security personnel: "A tool for terrorists"

An urgent appeal was filed to the court demanding the release of the security personnel from Samaria who were detained and to allow them a meeting with a lawyer. Head of the Samaria Council Yossi Dagan backed them and attacked the arrest, which he called "humiliating" and "a draconian tool reserved for terrorists." The representing attorneys stated they would fight with all means.

An urgent appeal was filed this morning (Monday) to the court against the detention of the security personnel from Samaria. The appeal demands to shorten or cancel the detention, and to allow them to immediately meet with their lawyers, a right that has been denied to them so far. Head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, backs the move and sharply attacks the system's conduct: "I strongly protest the humiliating arrest. Denying a meeting with a lawyer is a draconian tool reserved for terrorists, and not for those who serve and love the country. These are dedicated security personnel." Dagan also addressed the manner of the arrest: "The arrest was carried out in their living room in front of their children – this is a traumatic experience. Alongside the need to investigate the suspicions, it is essential to preserve the basic rights of the detainees and the dignity of their families. I call for allowing them to meet with a lawyer immediately." Attorneys Nati Rom and Asaf Gonen from the 'Honenu' organization, representing the detainees, stated following the filing of the appeal: "This is an escalation in the use of draconian tools against our finest boys. We will fight with all means at our disposal, as the case is not as it appears."
