IDF killed two-thirds of terrorists who invaded Israel on October 7, intel chief tells cabinet

IDF Military Intelligence chief Maj.-Gen. Shlomi Binder told the security cabinet that 4,000 of the 6,000 terrorists who infiltrated Israel on October 7, 2023 have been killed, with 2,000 remaining. Over the weekend, the IDF killed a Nukhba terrorist posing as an aid director, a Nukhba platoon commander, and two Islamic Jihad rocket commanders. An attempt to kill Hamas leader Ali al-Amoudi was reported but unconfirmed.

Shlomi Binder told the security cabinet on Sunday evening that 4,000 of the 6,000 terrorists who crossed the border from Gaza and infiltrated Israel on October 7, 2023 have been killed. "There are 2,000 remaining, and we will get to every last one of them," Binder said. An Israeli source confirmed the data to The Jerusalem Post. Over the weekend, the IDF killed Saqr Nabil Musa Qaisi, a Nukhba terrorist from Hamas who was posing as the director of a humanitarian aid organization called Deniz Feneri. The military also killed Ibrahim Mustafa Suleiman Abu Oweimer, a Nukhba platoon commander in Hamas' military wing and one of the terrorists who infiltrated Israel on October 7. Two Islamic Jihad rocket array commanders were killed, and an attempt to kill Ali al-Amoudi, Yahya Sinwar's successor as Hamas's leader in Gaza, was reported but unconfirmed. The Post reported in July that the military had killed at least 420 Hamas terrorists since the 2025 ceasefire. The Defense Ministry published data showing 1,318 Israeli security personnel have fallen since October 7, 2023, including 2,143 bereaved parents, 355 widows, and 880 orphans.
