Toshisuke Kanazawa, a 90-year-old Japanese bodybuilder, took the stage at a bodybuilding competition in Santa Susanna, Spain, competing in the masters category for ages 50 and over. Kanazawa attributes his physical fitness and longevity to a traditional Japanese diet including brown rice, natto, and miso soup, which he adopted four decades ago. According to him, since age 50 he has been building muscle through this diet, and thanks to it he has gone 90 years without illness. Although he did not place among the top finishers in the International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) competition, he is already eyeing his next goal: to compete again at age 93, and then retire. Kanazawa sees himself as a role model and emphasizes the importance of mental resilience in achieving goals.
