"I hope you get diagnosed with cancer": She wrote to Dr. Guy Rofe - and this is how he responded
Mirit Rosenbaum received an email from Guy Rofe, who presented himself as a doctor, and reminded him that his license was suspended due to sex offenses. In response, Rofe called her "stupid", "lonely and miserable" and wished her to get cancer. Rofe, whose license was suspended, continues to present himself as a specialist doctor despite a court order.
Mirit Rosenbaum, a lactation consultant, published on Facebook an email correspondence between herself and Dr. Guy Rofe, a gynecologist whose license was suspended following sex offenses against patients. Rofe emailed her presenting himself as a doctor, and she replied that he is prohibited from doing so since his license was suspended. In response, Rofe called her "stupid", "lonely and miserable" and wished her: "I hope you get diagnosed with cancer this year – when it comes, know that it's from me." Rofe signed his message as "Dr. Guy Rofe, specialist in obstetrics and gynecology." In November 2025, the Jerusalem District Court rejected his appeal against the suspension of his license, upholding the suspension. Rofe was indicted for rape by deception and indecent act by deception against a female soldier. The court ruled that a doctor whose license is suspended may not present himself as a licensed physician, as this could create a misleading impression. Rofe continued to advertise himself as a gynecology specialist on social media and to schedule appointments with patients even after the suspension.
