US Vice President JD Vance met on Thursday at the White House with conservative Jewish-American radio host Sid Rosenberg, as part of his efforts to allay concerns about him among conservative Jews and Israel supporters in the Republican Party. The one-on-one meeting, requested by Vance, lasted nearly half an hour and took place amid assessments that the vice president is preparing to run for the party's presidential nomination in 2028. Afterwards, Rosenberg also entered the Oval Office and briefly met with President Donald Trump. Rosenberg, a passionate Israel supporter, wrote after the meeting that he enjoyed the conversation, which allowed the two to get to know each other, but refrained from revealing its content. Later, he said on air that the two "got along great" and predicted they would soon have "many more meetings on very substantive issues." Criticism of Vance stems from his ties with anti-Israel conservative media personality Tucker Carlson, who hosted Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes on his show, and from his remarks at the All-In conference that the US cannot allow its Middle East foreign policy to be subordinate to Israel. Rosenberg emphasized that he is still closer to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, but left the meeting with a more positive assessment of Vance.
