Three Jewish women, including a mother pushing a baby stroller, were attacked yesterday (Monday) on a street in northeast London. British police arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of racially motivated assaults and are investigating the incidents as suspected antisemitic hate crimes. The attacks occurred in the Clapton Common area of the Hackney borough, near the Stamford Hill neighborhood, home to a large Jewish community. One of the attacked women contacted the Jewish watch organization 'Shomrim', and its volunteers arrived at the scene within minutes. The volunteers subdued the suspect and detained him until police arrived. According to the organization, one woman was punched in the face, and another was struck twice in the face, causing significant injuries. Police confirmed that at least three women were attacked and all sustained minor injuries. The suspect was also arrested on suspicion of involvement in another violent incident that occurred last Friday in Islington. Chief Inspector Erica Crowshaw of the Metropolitan Police described the incidents as 'concerning and distressing' and stated that 'antisemitic behavior and hate crimes of any kind will not be tolerated.'
