Hezbollah rebuilds military capabilities, upgrades FPV drones ahead of possible Israel war - report
Hezbollah is using the ceasefire to rebuild military capabilities in southern Lebanon, upgrading FPV drones to carry heavier payloads and extending their range, according to a report by Al-Modon. The terror group is preparing for a possible wider war involving Israel and Iran, taking Israeli threats seriously and anticipating military escalation.
Hezbollah is using the extended ceasefire period to rebuild its military capabilities in southern Lebanon, both south and north of the Litani River, according to sources cited by the Beirut-based outlet Al-Modon. The terror group has upgraded its FPV drones to carry between four and six kilograms of explosives, up from the previous payload of 2.5 kg, and extended the drones' cable length from 20 km to over 30 km, enabling attacks from greater distances. The rebuilding effort was linked to the interception of a truck carrying hundreds of kilograms of explosives, including TNT and C4, which the Lebanese Armed Forces seized in the Bekaa Valley. Hezbollah has also increased military deployments in villages adjacent to the Yellow Line, particularly near Nabatiya, and evacuated apartments and offices in Beirut's Dahiyeh stronghold in anticipation of Israeli assassination attempts. The report notes that Israel believes the Lebanese state has not fulfilled its duty to disarm Hezbollah, and may launch a large-scale military operation or impose an air, land, and sea blockade on Lebanon. Negotiations reportedly include exploring the deployment of forces from Italy, Switzerland, and Jordan to aid in removing Hezbollah's weaponry, but conditions for an agreement are not in place as Hezbollah refuses to hand over weapons.
