Eden arrived at Nahal Oz during the Sukkot holiday to replace a team that had gone on leave. She was an outstanding athlete, a competitive swimmer, who gave up a path as an elite athlete to serve in a meaningful role. Her father described life since her fall: "Most residents of the country live on a broken clock. Twice a year, on Memorial Day and on October 7, they somehow sync with us. For us, the pain is continuous."
