Hebron Mayor: 5,000 Palestinians between displaced and affected due to Israeli siege
Hebron Mayor Yousif al-Jabari reported that about 5,000 Palestinians have become either displaced or affected as a result of the ongoing Israeli military aggression on the city for the fifth day, amid a tightened siege that has affected neighborhoods in the city and the Ibrahimi Mosque, with damage to homes, infrastructure, and factories.
Hebron Mayor Yousif al-Jabari reported that about 5,000 Palestinians have become either displaced or affected as a result of the ongoing Israeli military aggression on the city for the fifth consecutive day. In an interview with Arab 48, al-Jabari said that Hebron is experiencing a severe and extensive siege and collective punishment by Israeli occupation forces, noting that the siege is also imposed on some areas within Hebron, including the Ibrahimi Mosque. He explained that the losses are very significant, whether in attacks on citizens and their property or the demolition of some homes, and that damage has affected the municipality's infrastructure, including water and sewage networks, roads, and sidewalks. He also pointed out that a very large number of factories have closed due to the inability to import or export goods, and that Palestinian workers have been unable to reach their workplaces. He stressed that the actual extent of the damage will become clearer after the withdrawal of Israeli forces from some areas whose residents were displaced.
