Hebrew media: Washington prepares to send troops and aircraft to 'Israel' within weeks

The Walla Hebrew news site reported, citing security sources, that the United States is preparing to send additional troops and aircraft to Israel in the coming weeks, as part of preparations for a possible escalation in the Middle East. This comes amid the strengthening of the US military presence in the region amid tensions with Iran, and close military coordination between Israel and US Central Command.

The Walla Hebrew news site reported, citing unnamed security sources, that the United States is preparing to send additional troops and aircraft to Israel in the coming weeks, as part of preparations for a possible escalation in the Middle East. The site stated that the US military currently has about 3,000 soldiers deployed across Israel, including those operating air defense systems, as well as pilots, support crews, logistics forces, and personnel working in military headquarters. It added that the US military has been conducting a routine rotation of forces in recent weeks, coinciding with the end of deployment periods for units in the region. It indicated that additional troops and aircraft are scheduled to arrive in the coming weeks. This comes as the United States strengthens its military presence in the region amid rising tensions with Iran. Walla quoted a senior Israeli security official as saying that Israel's enemies are not ignoring the elections in Israel and the United States, and are studying their impact through attacks aimed at destabilizing the situation without a major escalation. The official claimed that Israel's response this time would be very aggressive. These developments follow statements by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi about his country's readiness for the diplomatic path.
