In the trial of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Jerusalem District Court, his defense attorney Amit Hadad presented a series of internal documents and correspondence raising questions about information allegedly withheld from former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit. The focus of the discussion was an email from July 13, 2017, in which the then-head of the Police Internal Investigations Department, Uri Carmel, requested a meeting with Mandelblit to present his position on the Roni Ritman affair, but was rejected by State Attorney Shai Nitzan. Mandelblit confirmed that he did not read the documents Carmel sent. Additionally, it was revealed that Mandelblit was unaware of Ritman's claims that elements in the Prime Minister's Office tried to harm him, and that former Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein was unaware of a secret meeting between a police officer and journalist Ben Caspit in November 2015.
