Hamas: Storming of the Ibrahimi Mosque is a new escalation against holy sites

Abdul Rahman Shadeed, a leader in the Hamas movement, confirmed that the storming of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron by thousands of settlers, accompanied by a number of rabbis and Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, represents a new escalation in Israeli violations against Palestinian and Islamic holy sites. Shadeed explained in a press statement on Tuesday that turning the city of Hebron into a military zone and imposing severe restrictions on the movement of residents are part of a policy of tightening the noose on Palestinians in various areas of the West Bank, stressing that these measures will not deter Palestinians from clinging to their rights and holy sites. He added that the ongoing stormings and violations of the Ibrahimi Mosque will increase the state of popular anger, calling for continued presence in the mosque and preserving its Islamic character. Shadeed affirmed that the Ibrahimi Mosque will maintain its Islamic and historical identity and status, despite Israeli measures and repeated stormings. He called on the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Hebron Governorate to intensify their presence in the Ibrahimi Mosque and remain there, and also called on Arab and Islamic peoples to mobilize in support of the holy sites.
