The Military Advocate General's office is examining the possibility and has not ruled it out. Shkaron was murdered in a shooting attack near Neve Tzuf on the eve of Yom Kippur.

Shkaron, a resident of the settlement Eli Zahav in Samaria, was murdered in a shooting attack at a spring near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the Binyamin region, shortly before the onset of the Yom Kippur fast. He was initially evacuated in critical condition to the hospital, where his death was determined. The terrorist, a resident of the village of Bidu, was captured alive after a manhunt. Shkaron is survived by his wife and six children. One of his children, Yoav, who was with him during the attack and survived, eulogized him at the funeral. In response to the attack, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir called for applying the death penalty law to the terrorist.
