Google launches a feature to help you breeze through the shopping season

Google has launched the Universal Cart, a unified shopping cart that allows users to collect items from different retailers into a single list in Search and the Gemini app. The system alerts users to price drops, pulls coupons, and recommends the most cost-effective credit card. The feature has been launched in the US and is planned to expand in the future.

Google launched the 'Universal Cart' over the weekend, a new feature that allows users to collect items from different retailers into a single shopping list within the search engine (in AI Mode) and the Gemini app. The system, launched in the United States, relies on Google's Shopping Graph database, which centralizes data on over 60 billion products. The cart sends alerts about price drops and restocked items, automatically scans for relevant coupon codes and deals, and is connected to Google Wallet to recommend the most cost-effective credit card. Payment is made with one click via Google Pay with retailers like Walmart, Target, Nike, Sephora, and Shopify stores. Google plans to expand the service in the future to Gmail and YouTube, and to expand globally.
