Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi has issued a demand for party leaders to publicly commit to the complete dismantling of Hamas, three years after the October 7 massacre. At the "Future for the Envelope" conference held today (Sunday), Davidi called for presenting a long-term security plan for Gaza and the communities of the Gaza Envelope. He criticized Israel's policy of containment in the years leading up to the massacre and argued that the yellow line in the Strip is no substitute for a clear security policy. Davidi presented a series of steps that every candidate for prime minister must commit to, including the complete destruction of tunnels and terror infrastructure, dismantling Hamas's governance and financial mechanisms, and deepening Israeli security control in the Strip. He called for presenting answers for the future of the Strip, establishing a permanent defense array for the Envelope communities, and expanding the powers and budgets of local authorities. At the end of his remarks, Davidi expressed opposition to forming a government that would rely on the support of Arab parties.
