The National Planning and Building Council approved transferring to the government a plan to expand fast-charging stations at gas stations in Israel. The plan includes additional building rights of up to 100 square meters for establishing electrical infrastructure at stations with at least five fast-charging points, construction of covered waiting areas for drivers during charging, and exemption from submitting a hydrological-environmental document for plans that include only charging stations. Additionally, an amendment to NOP 2/19/1 was approved to allow the establishment of energy storage facilities at stations. The plan still requires government approval. The headline creates an expectation of a big and immediate change, but the body describes a long-term process.
