Gaza Health Warns of Health System Collapse Due to Fuel and Medicine Shortage

The warning came during a press conference in front of the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City. The ministry explained that the crisis is concentrated in three axes: a shortage of fuel and spare parts for electric generators, with more than 70% of generators out of service, threatening critical departments. The second axis is the paralysis of the transport sector due to a lack of fuel and tires, hindering the arrival of medical staff. The third axis is a severe shortage of medicines and medical consumables, malfunctioning diagnostic equipment, and the continued closure of treatment outlets outside the Strip. The ministry called on the international community, the Security Council, the World Health Organization, and OCHA to take urgent action to secure the entry of fuel and medicines and lift restrictions on crossings, warning that the continued shortage threatens the lives of patients and the wounded.
