Gantz stings: "Either Lieberman is lying – or we're heading to elections"
Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz attacks Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman, asserting that either Lieberman is lying about his intention to form a government, or the country is heading to new elections. Gantz calls on Gadi Eisenkot to come to his senses and join a Zionist unity government under his leadership, warning that only a strong Blue and White will ensure a broad Zionist government.
Blue and White chairman, former Chief of Staff and Defense Minister Benny Gantz, sharply attacked Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman in what appears to be a timed political sting. Gantz presented a sharp dilemma: "Either Lieberman is lying and will form a minority government with the Arab parties under his leadership, or we are heading to new elections." In his remarks, Gantz directly addressed Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the State Camp, calling on him to "come to his senses" and understand that the only way is to join a Zionist unity government under Gantz's leadership. "I will give you backing for unity," Gantz promised Eisenkot, emphasizing that "only a strong Blue and White will ensure a broad Zionist government that will save Israel." In his remarks, Gantz positions himself as the only statesmanlike alternative to Lieberman, and tries to pull Eisenkot from the State Camp to Blue and White. In response, Likud issued a statement against Lieberman, noting that "Lieberman, who formed a government with Mansour Abbas and transferred 53 billion shekels as Finance Minister to Islamic associations that supported Hamas, will do so again." Likud added that "Eisenkot and Lieberman have no government without Yair Golan and the Arab parties."
