Israeli actress Gal Gadot, winner of the 2026 Genesis Prize, will transfer a total of $3 million to 27 organizations in Israel that provide mental health support and rehabilitation. $1 million comes from the prize itself, and an additional $2 million were raised in partnership with the Jewish donor network. The selected organizations assist mental health professionals, trauma victims, children and youth, and families coping with the aftermath of the October 7 massacre and the subsequent war. Among the selected organizations are Make-A-Wish Israel, United Hatzalah, and CareGivers Israel. The process took about two months, during which approximately 150 applications were received. Gadot stated: "After three years of war, loss, and unprecedented hardship, I chose to dedicate my prize grants to therapists and medical teams." The initiative is set against the backdrop of the strain on the mental health system: according to a 2025 State Comptroller report, 34% of the adult population reported moderate to severe post-traumatic symptoms, estimated at 2.5 to 3 million people. Gadot was one of the prominent voices in Hollywood condemning the October 7 attack and calling for the release of the hostages.
