Gafni in unusual message just before the elections: "The left knows how to keep promises"

MK Moshe Gafni (Degel HaTorah) attacked the right-wing bloc at an election rally, saying the left knows how to keep promises unlike the right. He defined the election campaign as an unprecedented war for the world of yeshivas, against the backdrop of the conscription law controversy.

Just before the polls open, Degel HaTorah chairman MK Moshe Gafni delivered an unusual and pointed message toward the right-wing bloc. At the party's election rally held this evening (Sunday), Gafni attacked his political partners and said: "The left that threatened me then – knows how to keep promises, unlike the right that doesn't." Gafni claimed this is an unprecedented election campaign, which he defined as "a war for spiritual life and death" over the world of yeshivas, against the backdrop of the conscription law controversy. He revealed that at the beginning of the government's term, senior economic figures threatened him, telling him: "We will make your life hell if you decide for us who will be prime minister." Gafni emphasized that the Torah sages will decide the continuation, and stated: "Will they stop studying Torah in the Land of Israel? Never."
