From Sderot and the Gaza Envelope Kibbutzim to Security Forces: New AI Archive for October 7 Testimonies
The Hebrew University and the "Edut 710" association have launched a new AI-based archive containing hundreds of testimonies from survivors, families of hostages, and fighters from October 7. The archive allows search by topics and keywords. It includes difficult testimonies, such as those of a Sderot resident who lost her sister and a kibbutz resident whose son was killed and his body abducted.
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the "Edut 710" association have launched a new archive based on artificial intelligence, containing hundreds of testimonies from survivors of the October 7 massacre, relatives of hostages, security forces personnel, and residents of Sderot, Ofakim, and the kibbutzim in the Gaza Envelope. The archive allows searching testimonies by topics and keywords. The testimonies are presented in segments of five to six minutes, with the option to view a more detailed testimony. Among the testimonies: Ornit Pahima from Sderot, who heard from her father about an encounter with terrorists at the police station and about the disappearance of her sister Mor Gabai. After two days, she evacuated to Eilat and received a message that her father was summoned to identify her sister's body. Another testimony from Giora Rodif from Nir Yitzhak, whose son Lior, a member of the emergency response team, was killed and his body abducted to Gaza. The university will hold an international academic conference on October 7, 2026, the eve of the third anniversary.
