"Free Palestine" via the subway: Because of "ties to the IDF" - the machines were vandalized

Two suspects vandalized OMNY ticket machines at a Brooklyn subway station, leaving flyers accusing the parent company of ties to the Israeli security establishment. The damage is estimated at $18,200. Police are investigating.

Two suspects vandalized smart ticket machines of the OMNY system at the Church Avenue subway station in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, on Wednesday afternoon. Footage circulated on X by Kala Walsh, a radical left-wing activist, shows the suspects using a drill and crowbar to destroy touchscreens while spraying paint on security cameras. The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority estimated the damage at $18,200, with each machine worth about $2,600. The vandalism was accompanied by a political message: flyers left at the scene accused OMNY's parent company, Cubic Corporation, of commercial ties with the Israeli security establishment and called to 'free Palestine.' The NYPD is investigating the incident and examining links to other anti-Israel vandalism cases. The machines were repaired and returned to service shortly afterward.
