Eckhart was found dead in her Florida home on the morning of Saturday, September 19, according to an incident report from the Martin County Sheriff's Office. Spokeswoman Christine Christofek said the death was ruled a suicide. Eckhart worked as a producer at Fox Business for seven years. In 2020, she accused then-host Ed Henry of rape, which he denied. Henry was fired from the network following allegations of sexual misconduct. In her lawsuit, Eckhart claimed she was violently raped, that Henry asked her to be his "sex slave," threatened her, and filmed her for blackmail. Fox News said it acted immediately upon learning of the allegations and that Henry is no longer employed. In 2025, Eckhart reached a settlement in her lawsuit. Following her experiences, she founded a nonprofit called The Reinvented Project to help trauma survivors and launched a podcast.
