The disciplinary court of the Football Association ruled this evening (Wednesday) on the punishment of Beitar Jerusalem and Hapoel Petah Tikva following the massive brawl and pitch invasion during warm-ups before their match. Beitar was fined 100,000 shekels and banned from selling away tickets for the upcoming match against Maccabi Haifa. Hapoel Petah Tikva was fined 60,000 shekels, of which 30,000 shekels were due to the activation of a previous suspended sentence. The prosecutor's demand for conditional point deductions was canceled by agreement. Beitar representatives argued that the incident occurred before kickoff and does not warrant dramatic penalties, while the prosecutor emphasized the need to fight the phenomenon of pitch invasions that could end in disaster.
