President Isaac Herzog's Voice of the People global Jewish council completed its inaugural term in Budapest from October 19 to 21, with over 20 initiatives at the proof-of-concept stage and nearly 2,500 applications for the second cohort—more than double the first round. The council, established by Herzog with the World Zionist Organization, the Jewish Agency, and several foundations, consists of 150 members: 50 from Israel, 50 from North America, and 50 from other parts of the world. The gathering addressed challenges including antisemitism, disability inclusion, public communication, and business cooperation across the Middle East. Robert Ejnes of CRIF discussed recent French riots, stating they concern all of France and not only Jews, but noted a sharp increase in antisemitic incidents since October 7, 2023, blaming far-left parties. Hungarian President András Baka described Hungary as safe for Jews and called for respect of international humanitarian law. Participants highlighted the value of cross-community dialogue and projects such as the Abraham Executive Academy, which held a summit in Berlin with participants from Lebanon, the UAE, and other countries.
