FlyDubai pilot wrote about killings for years - what was found in his accounts
An investigation by The Telegraph has revealed that FlyDubai co-pilot Hammam al-Hamami published extremist statements on social media from 2021 to 2022, including calls for violence, justification of killing Jews, and support for harsh religious punishments. He was previously suspended from flying by Oman Air but managed to get a job at FlyDubai.
The British newspaper The Telegraph examined over 2,000 messages in an account linked to FlyDubai co-pilot Hammam al-Hamami, published from November 2021 to August 2022. The posts contained calls for violence against women, threats of physical harm, and justification of domestic violence. Al-Hamami also advocated for the death penalty and referenced religious texts about crucifixion and amputation. His statements against Jews were linked to jihadist ideology. Previously, Oman Air suspended al-Hamami from flying after discovering extremist materials, yet he was able to secure a job at FlyDubai. The report raises questions about how a pilot with such a background continued his career in civil aviation.
