A suspect in drug trafficking, a resident of Modi'in Illit in his 20s, who was supposed to be under house arrest, managed to flee the country through Ben Gurion Airport using another person's passport. According to the report, the suspect arrived at the airport with an escort whose identity is unknown. He successfully passed through the security chain, and upon reaching the automatic border control station, the escort presented his passport, but the suspect himself passed in his place, while the escort remained behind. The suspect stayed abroad for nearly two months, and during this period an investigation was conducted against him. Upon his return to Israel, he was arrested immediately upon disembarking from the plane. In his investigation, he denied the suspicions and claimed that he thought his house arrest conditions had ended, and that he left the country with his own passport. It was also reported that Ben Gurion Airport initially did not cooperate in providing security footage. The Population Authority responded: "The case is not known to us."
