A prosecutor's statement ahead of an indictment will be filed today (Friday) against crime organization head Eyal Najar. Najar, head of a crime organization from Ashdod, is suspected of extorting hundreds of food delivery couriers in southern Israel. According to police, he was a secret partner in a delivery company and a central figure in the extortion affair of competitors in the courier industry. Najar was arrested on August 11 at a Tel Aviv hotel. That same morning, dozens of suspects were arrested in massive police raids in several cities in the south, as part of a large-scale operation led by the Lachish District Police and Border Police National Guard fighters, on suspicion of involvement in protection racket offenses and other criminal offenses. His detention has been extended from time to time.
