The well-known criminal Oshri Arbiv, a resident of Hadera, was arrested today (Sunday) on suspicion of drug possession not for personal use. The arrest was carried out by the Israel Police. Arbiv is no stranger to law enforcement: last December he was arrested along with another suspect on suspicion of threats and exposing the identity of a police agent, who was at the center of the 'Crossing Borders' affair. In this affair, the agent implicated dozens of suspects in arms and drug trafficking. The police attributed particular severity to the acts, claiming it was a 'call to harm a police agent'. Arbiv's arrest was then extended by five days. Attorney Sapir Pardo, who represented the suspects, criticized the manner of the arrest and claimed the two were arrested 'like the worst criminals in Israel, in the dead of night'.
