Fire in nursing home in Bnei Brak: six injured rescued, two in serious condition

A fire broke out last night (Thursday) at the "Merkaz Siud Mishkanot Vatikim" nursing home on Amram Gaon Street in Bnei Brak. Fire and rescue teams from the Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan stations operated at the scene to rescue trapped individuals. The fire broke out in one of the apartments on the first floor of an eight-story building. About forty residents were evacuated from the building. Six residents who were trapped in the burning apartment were rescued and evacuated to Sheba Hospital: two in serious condition, three in moderate condition, and one in mild condition. About twenty additional residents are being examined and treated on site by medical personnel, and their condition is defined as mild. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and conducted comprehensive searches to rule out trapped individuals. During the searches, several trapped residents were located in the burning apartment. A fire investigator was called to the scene to examine the circumstances of the fire outbreak. In addition, an unusual confrontation between rescue forces at the scene was reported, and Border Police officers separated the teams.
