Exclusive: The secret meeting of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with Sh., a former Mossad senior official suspected in the QatarGate affair, took place in summer 2024 at the height of the war and does not appear in the Prime Minister's diaries. This was revealed this evening (Sunday) by Omri Maniv on "The Main Edition." During the meeting, held one-on-one, Sh. asked Netanyahu to curb the harsh statements of some government ministers against Qatar. Sh., who previously served in a senior Mossad role and ended his tenure dealing with the United Arab Emirates, later engaged in business with Qatar and was involved in the World Cup project. Lahav 433 investigators suspect that Yonatan Urich, Netanyahu's close advisor, helped coordinate the meeting. In his investigation, Urich denied coordinating the meeting or that Sh. approached him to arrange meetings with the Prime Minister. The investigators claimed that investigation materials show Sh. approached Urich, and that Urich contacted the Prime Minister's Office. Urich also denied being asked to act with ministers Amichai Shikli, Nir Barkat, and Ron Dermer to curb their statements against Qatar. Last week, News 12 revealed that Urich admitted working for Qatar even after October 7 and receiving hundreds of thousands of shekels.
