Former hostage Omri Miran, released from Gaza after 738 days in captivity, will lead a Salon Otef gathering as part of a nationwide initiative where hundreds of people affected by the October 7 massacre share their stories at 450 locations across Israel. Miran described telling the story as "an immensely important national mission, a life mission." Salon Otef, led by 255, the Hostages and Families Organization, consists of gatherings where returned hostages, family members of living and deceased hostages, survivors, bereaved families, and security forces members share personal testimonies followed by open conversation. The initiative is supported by KKL-JNF and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, with participation from the Atid LaOtef movement, Nova Tribe Community Association, Edut 710, the Kumu movement, and the Kibbutz Movement. This year's gatherings will also address ongoing challenges since October 7: coping with loss, rehabilitation, returning home, and rebuilding. Salon Otef was first launched in 2024 and has since taken place annually around the anniversary.
