European Union: 'We condemn the attack of settlers on diplomats'

The European Union issued a statement strongly condemning recent settler attacks in the West Bank, including attacks on European diplomats. The EU positively noted statements by Israeli representatives who condemned these attacks but called for holding those responsible accountable and taking measures to prevent violence against Palestinians and journalists.

The spokesperson for the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy issued a statement in which the European Union strongly condemns recent settler attacks in the West Bank, including attacks on European diplomats. The statement notes that the EU positively assesses statements by several Israeli representatives who condemned these attacks, but expects those responsible to be held accountable and effective measures to be taken to prevent ongoing violence and severe harassment against Palestinians, including during the current olive harvest season, as well as against journalists.
