American conservative historian Victor Davis Hanson warns that under a future Democratic administration, the United States could define Israel as an enemy state. In an interview with the Daily Signal network against the backdrop of the midterm election results, Hanson argued that the Democratic Party is "infected with anti-Semitism" and that a Democratic administration would restore funding to Hamas and remove the terrorist designation from the Houthis. At the same time, he calls on President Trump to deliver a military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities using stealth bombers, and to combine targeted strikes with sanctions and support for opposition groups. In a separate article, Hanson assessed that Trump will enjoy a free hand in foreign policy despite the Republican defeat in the elections, and that his legacy depends on the economy and the denuclearization of Iran.
