The Supreme Court permitted publication that Commander Tomer Strauss, head of the Investigations Division in the Lahav 433 unit, was investigated on suspicion of sexual harassment and indecent acts against a junior police officer. The criminal case was closed due to lack of evidence and transferred to disciplinary proceedings, in which he received a commander's note for inappropriate remarks. The affair was revealed by Kan News about six months ago. According to the complaint, Strauss made crude sexual remarks over time, and in one instance tried to touch the officer under the table and said, "let me give you oral." Strauss denied the allegations and claimed it was a fabrication. His name was banned from publication, and after a series of appeals, the Supreme Court rejected his appeal and allowed publication. The complainant was represented by attorney Dekla Totain, who said her client showed great courage. Attorney Liran Zilberman, representing Strauss, stated it was a false complaint by an officer on the verge of dismissal. However, the district court judge ruled it was not a fabrication. Strauss is on forced leave awaiting the disciplinary department's decision.
